Queen Elizabeth II, Britain’s longest-reigning monarch died, after 70 years on the throne. She was 96. The palace announced she died at Balmoral Castle, her summer residence in Scotland. “The Queen died peacefully at Balmoral this afternoon. The King and the Queen Consort will remain at Balmoral this evening and will return to London tomorrow,” Buckingham Palace announced in a statement on Thursday (Sep 8).

Queen Elizabeth II’s eldest son, Charles, Prince of Wales, has automatically become the king at 73 and will be known as King Charles III.

While the whole of Britain has entered a 10-day period of official mourning, which will last until the queen’s funeral, the world too is paying tributes.

Mollywood celebrities including Manju Warrier, Suresh Gopi, and many others have taken to their respective social media handles to mourn the demise of Queen Elizabeth II.

Superstar Suresh Gopi, who had met Queen Elizabeth II in person in 2017 expressed his deepest condolences on the passing of Britain’s longest-reigning monarch. Sharing the picture he clicked with Queen Elizabeth II, Suresh Gopi said, “Saddened to hear about the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
